MASAKI'S AUTO REPAIR
Masaki's Auto Repair is located in the Moili`ili neighborhood of Honolulu.
We operate out of our shop located at 2211 S. Beretania St. Our location has its own parking area, as well as bay space for multiple cars at one time. There are are between 3-5 ASE-Certified mechanics working on a daily basis, and we are an authorized safey check station for the City & County of Honolulu. Oil changes, safety checks, car A/C repair, and transmission service/repair are the most common requests we receive, and Masaki's takes care of these on a regular basis.
Why Are Oil Changes Important? This regular task is something that keeps an internal combustion engine running at its best, and ensures efficiency when changed properly. Most autos can go 3000-5000 miles before an oil change is needed, but vehicles using synthetic oil can go from 7500-10000 miles without much issue. Newer vehicles commonly have an oil life monitor system that allows them to calculate when an oil change is needed based on the mileage and driving demands of the vehicle. Masaki's offers this service as a part of a package of services.
Safety Check Service
Safety checks are one of those things that comes along every 1-2 years and is required to legally be on the road. Masaki's Auto Repair offers safety check service, and is an authorized safety check station for the City & County of Honolulu. Please make an appointment for this service to avoid any long wait, and please be sure to have a current registration, and current/valid insurance card. We cannot issue any safety check without those two items. Please notify us at the time you make an appointment about any repair that would be needed in order to receive a safety check. This will allow us to schedule more time for your vehicle, and will prevent long delays for your service.
Tips for low/flat tires
This is an image of a TPMS sensor which detects low tire pressure and shows a yellow or red light on your dash with an exclamation mark in the middle if you have low pressure. Most modern vehicles will have 4-5 of these sensors.
• If you see that indicator on your dash, first take a walk around your vehicle to see if you can visibly see any flat or low-pressure tires.
• If your tire(s) have any visible objects (nails, screws, metal) don't pull it out, but instead try to fill the tire to a minimum of 30 PSI. Your vehicle's recommended tire pressure is on a sticker on the inside of your driver's side door frame.
• You should not drive a vehicle if the tire is completely flat, as it could permanently damage the sidewall. Call for a tow or change to a spare.
• If there are no flat or low-pressure tires, it is likely that one or more of your TPMS sensors has gone bad and we will need to replace them in order to get the light on your dash to turn off. We can determine this with a diagnostic check.
Car Air Conditioning Repair
Driving in Hawai`i without air conditioning can become uncomfortable very quickly. Fortunately, this is a keystone service offered by Masaki Auto repair, and we can help diagnose and address the problem quickly. An air conditioning system can be very elaborate and have everything from a simple repair and solution, to a more involved and complicated one. We will assess the problem accurately and offer you solutions to get you back to normal as quickly as possible.
The beginning steps will be to perform a diagnostic check on your vehicle by connecting it to our computer system and determine what errors are showing. If your vehicle is an older one, we can still perform an inspection that will track down the issue.
At this point, we will be able to begin repairs and do any number of things from recharging the system to changing compressors or replacing necessary valves and lines. If you are experiencing warmer air from your AC vents, decreased airflow, or other even water dripping from the vehicle, please contact us immediately to schedule a repair.
Other Automotive Repair Tasks
We have numerous mechanics here at our shop that have the skill and expertise to address all kinds of automotive issues.
